Lower your bills, support WindowDressers and community solar power in Maine!

While the pandemic and other world and national events have dominated headlines, the planet continues to quietly warm, causing dangerous changes to our ecosystems. That is why [our organization] has begun a partnership with a firm called PowerMarket to support Maine-based community solar development.

You can now subscribe to a small portion of the power from a large solar project in your community to meet your energy needs at your home or small business. This is an option called “net energy billing”, available to all Mainers that pay a light bill to CMP or Versant.

PowerMarket is a northeastern community solar company that makes a habit of giving back to communities that support their work. They have offered to make a donation of $25 to our organization on behalf of every community member that subscribes to Maine community solar power as we have done.

In a nutshell, here is the process:

  1. For CMP customers, click on this link and then click “sign up” : https://powermarket.io/project/bristol-community-solar.html

  2. For Versant customers in the Bangor/Hydro service district, click on this link and then click “sign up” below OK Community Solar: https://powermarket.io/project/ok-community-solar.html .

  3. Provide PowerMarket with your utility account number so they can determine how many solar panels to allocate to you, to offset your typical power usage. (This can be adjusted if usage changes).

  4. Provide your billing details, then each month after your project goes live, you will have kWh credits applied against supply and delivery on your light bill, lowering the amount owed to your utility. PowerMarket will then charge you for 82% of those credits, resulting in guaranteed savings.

  5. Sign the agreement letting your utility know you want to be a part of the program. There are no fees to join, no fees to leave and they will never decrease your discount.

  6. Enter INSERTS in the promo code field and PowerMarket makes a donation to our WindowDressers in your name.

  7. Start seeing savings by supporting local, clean energy!

We hope you will decide to support WindowDressers and community solar power in Maine!

Do you have similar solar projects in VT that I can signup for?

      Hi Jill,

Please contact the vendor to inquire about their other services. WindowDressers does not manage this program, we are simply partnering with them to promote.

      Thanks,
