Welcome Meaghan LaSala!
I’m very excited to introduce you to our newest WindowDressers Team Member! Meaghan LaSala of Portland was just hired to be my Program Assistant. Here she is in her own words:
I am beyond honored and excited to be joining the WindowDressers community as Program Assistant. Already in my first week on the job, I am blown away by the scope of what you all are able accomplish with volunteer power and community spirit. WindowDressers clearly has something very special going on. I feel lucky to be able to support you all in this role.
Both the mission of Window Dressers and the position itself are a great fit for me. I have spent the past several years doing this kind of administrative and customer service support in non-profit and educational settings. I’ve also devoted my life to community organizing around climate change and economic justice. I currently serve as the chair of the board for the Southern Maine Workers’ Center, organizing for the Human Right to Health Care, and for Paid Sick Leave in Portland. I’ve been part of many grassroots efforts to address climate change, including pressing the University of Maine System to become the first statewide university system to divest its direct holdings from coal companies. All of my experiences lead me to the conviction that the only way we can solve the many overlapping problems we face as a society is with the kind of neighbor-to-neighbor, grassroots foundation that WindowDressers exemplifies. Thank you for all of your unique labors that make this project run, and thank you for welcoming me on board!

What a wonderful experience in Brunswick this past week on my first build with exceptionally gifted instructors, creative tools and positive community energy! All of our inserts are in and already making a difference in our energy use during our first “nor’easter” of the season.
Thank you to the remarkable staff at Windowdressers for your creative efforts!
